1. Accepting These Terms

These Terms of Service apply to the Inset website and related services. By using Inset, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, stop using the service.

Inset is currently an early release. Features, interfaces, availability, and pricing may continue to change.

2. Product and Current Availability

Inset is an S3 Web Browser for Organizing Assets. It helps users browse, preview, categorize, search, and use images and files in their own object storage from the browser. The current version supports connecting Cloudflare R2, browsing files, previewing assets, searching, tagging, categorizing, favoriting, and basic file operations. Other S3-compatible storage providers are planned.

Original files remain in the user's own local folder or object storage. Object storage sync and some advanced capabilities may depend on the selected plan. Planned items are not promises of a release date, exact scope, or permanent availability.

3. Folder Permission and File Operations

Inset can access a library only after you deliberately select and authorize its folder, or connect object storage. When you request an import, move, rename, deletion, sync, or other organization action, Inset may directly change files and library records in the corresponding storage.

You agree to:

• authorize only folders you have the right to access and modify;
• keep a backup before batch organization, deletion, migration, or writing to a third-party library;
• review results and take responsibility for file actions you request;
• avoid having multiple programs write to the same library at once.

Browser permissions, clearing browser data, disk failure, changes made by other software, and incompatible formats may cause permission loss, missing records, or file conflicts.

4. Your Content and Rights

You retain your rights in images, folders, tags, categories, and other materials. Using Inset does not transfer ownership of that content or grant us a license to copy, distribute, or publicly display it.

If you deliberately use future AI or team features, we receive only the limited permission needed to provide that selected feature. The exact processing will be explained when the feature is enabled.

You are responsible for having the right to use and organize your materials. Do not use Inset to infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights.

5. Accounts and Security

Currently available basic organization features may be used without an account. Object storage sync, paid features, and some online features may require sign-in.

If you create an account, provide accurate information, protect your credentials, and promptly report unauthorized use. You are responsible for actions requested through your account except where law provides otherwise.

6. Acceptable Use

You must not:

• use Inset for unlawful, fraudulent, infringing, or harmful activity;
• access another person's account, folder, library, or system without permission;
• distribute malware or deliberately interfere with or bypass service security;
• place abnormal automated requests or resource demands on online services;
• impersonate Inset, fabricate a partnership, or mislead others.

7. Third-Party Services and Compatibility

Sign-in, email, payment, or hosting features may be provided by third parties and are also subject to their terms. Storage services connected by the user are subject to their own terms.

If Inset later supports reading or compatibility with third-party library formats such as Eagle, those formats can change at any time. We do not guarantee compatibility with every version, field, plugin, or write-back operation. Copy and back up an important third-party library before using compatibility features, and prefer read-only or import workflows where possible.

8. Early Release and Changes

The early release is provided in its currently available state and may contain errors, interruptions, performance issues, inconsistent data, or unfinished features. We may add, change, suspend, or remove capabilities and will try to explain material changes.

We do not guarantee that Inset works with every browser, device, file system, or library format. A browser with strong local-folder support is currently recommended.

9. Backups and Limitation of Liability

Inset is not a replacement for backups. Keep a separate, recoverable copy of important images and libraries.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible beyond legal requirements for indirect loss, business interruption, or data loss caused by browser limitations, expired permission, user error, concurrent writes, third-party format changes, device failure, or events beyond reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be limited.

10. Paid Features

If paid features become available, price, billing period, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms will be shown before purchase. Unless a purchase page says otherwise, planned and unreleased features are not part of a current purchase commitment.

11. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using Inset at any time, revoke folder permission, clear browser records, or delete your account. Stopping online services does not automatically delete images in your local folder.

We may limit related online features where an account is used for serious unlawful activity, infringement, service attacks, or harm to others. Except in urgent security situations, we will try to provide an explanation.

12. Changes and Applicable Law

We may update these Terms as the product and legal requirements change. Material changes will be explained on this page or through an in-product notice. Continued use after an update means acceptance, except where separate consent is legally required.

Applicable law is determined by the location of Inset's actual operator and any mandatory law that applies. If one provision is invalid, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
