v0.0.1

The first early release of Inset introduces a local image library, flexible sorting, and a simpler product experience

2026/07/16

New

  • Local image library: Choose a folder on your computer and manage its images directly in the browser. Images stay local by default and do not need to be uploaded.
  • Drag to organize: Import multiple images at once or drag in a folder containing images.
  • Multiple viewing options: Switch between masonry, adaptive, grid, and list views to browse images your way.
  • Search and image details: Search by name, and view dimensions, format, file size, dates, and primary colors.
  • Flexible sorting: Sort by date added, date modified, date created, title, extension, file size, dimensions, rating, or duration. A random mode is also available.

Improvements

  • Version link on the home page: The current version appears at the top of the home page with direct access to the changelog.
  • Quick start: A single “Start organizing” button now takes you directly to the image library.
  • Ascending and descending order: Sort method and direction now appear as one clear control.
  • Smoother large libraries: Browsing remains responsive when a library contains many images.
  • Library memory: Return to the previously selected library and viewing preference when reopening the page.
  • Updated identity: The website name, product copy, and icons now consistently use Inset.

Page Updates

  • The home page now focuses on the main image-organizing experience.
  • Search results and social previews now use the latest Inset title, product description, and cover image.
  • The image library page now has accurate English and Chinese titles and descriptions.
  • The header and footer have been simplified, and external contact links are no longer shown in the footer.
  • The blog, About, Roadmap, Contact, FAQ, and mailing-list pages have been removed.
  • The Privacy Policy and Terms now reflect Inset's local-first workflow, and the Cookie Policy page has been removed.
